BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS OF COLORADO HONORED WITH 2016 NATIONAL QUALITY AWARD
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado has been named a 2016 Big Brothers Big Sisters of America Quality Award winner. The organization is one of the 36 affiliate agencies out of 303 nationwide to receive this honor. This award is used by Big Brothers Big Sisters of America to recognize the strong work ethic of agency leadership and staff in providing high-quality programming for the children the organization serves.
“We are very proud to be nationally recognized for the superior quality of our programs with the Big Brothers Big Sisters Nationwide Leadership Council’s 2016 Quality Award,” said Dave Ryan, CEO. “I couldn’t be more proud of our dedicated team of professionals. Program quality and match safety are always our top priorities, and this Colorado team continues to deliver excellence.”
Only 11% of all Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies received this award. This honor validates the significant work of our staff and volunteers to grow and deepen our impact while maintaining exceptional standards of quality and a focus on serving youth.
Now, more than ever, the demand for mentoring is increasing throughout Colorado. This year, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado will serve an additional 400 children in Colorado, growing to over 2,000 children matched with mentors. Research and experience prove that spending time with a child through mentoring works, leading to improved grades in school, decreases in risky and delinquent behavior, and increases in self-confidence.
The Quality Award reflects the care and attention that goes into each match between a Big and a Little. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado will receive award recognition at the 2017 Big Brothers Big Sisters National Conference in San Diego, California, this June.
