Donor of the Month: Wells Fargo

Posted: June 26, 2017

Wells Fargo supports organizations that keep our communities strong, diverse, and vibrant. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado (BBBSC) has been a proud partner of Wells Fargo since 1996- working together to strengthen the youth and families in our community.

Wells Fargo invests annually in our proven one-to-one mentoring programs through grants, employee contributions, and event sponsorships. In total, Wells Fargo has donated over $286,000 to BBBSC. Wells Fargo employees volunteer their time as mentors, participate in annual golf and bowling events, and several Wells Fargo executives have served in leadership capacities on our State and Associate Boards. Thank you Wells Fargo for all you do for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado! We are grateful for your continued support and for all that your employees do for our Littles. A special thanks to the following employees for your dedication to BBBSC:

Chad Weinmaster, Sr. Vice President - Regional Brokerage Manager

Chad serves on the State Board of Directors providing strategic direction and governance to the agency. Chad joined the Board in 2015 and has been a tremendous advocate in fundraising for our impactful mentoring programs and annual events.

Mark LaJoie, Assistant Vice President - Investments

Mark is a mentor in our new mentor2.0 Atlas Prep program in Pikes Peak. Thank you Mark for joining our inaugural Atlas Prep class during the 2016-2017 school year!

Mike Oakes, Assistant Vice President - Investments/Financial Advisor

Mike Oakes has been a Big Brother for 7 years to Little Brother Marciano! Mike is also the Board Chair of our Associate Board of Directors and leads our annual Cards for Kids event.

Josh Leslie, Manager at Wells Fargo

Josh is a mentor in the mentor2.0 program at Sheridan High School. Josh and Caleb were matched in 2015 and immediately bonded over sports at the beginning of their first year in mentor2.0. Their mutual love for sports prompted conversations about the importance of Caleb keeping his grades up to stay eligible for the many varsity teams Caleb plays on. The topic of scholarships and scouts is something Caleb often brings up when meeting with Josh each month!
