Grow Your Gift Through Tax Credit
For the past several years, in order to promote giving to nonprofit organizations that provide quality child care in Colorado, the state has offered a special 50% income tax credit to taxpayers who donate to qualifying programs. The effect of this credit is that half of your donation is offset by a dollar-for-dollar reduction of your Colorado income taxes. In addition, you are still able to claim your full contribution on your federal and state income tax returns if you itemize your deductions.
Making a monetary donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado entitles you to this Colorado Child Care Contribution Credit! Combined with other state and federal itemized tax deductions, the actual net cost of a donation is almost 1/3 of your gift, which makes it a great way to maximize your charitable giving. Donate TODAY!
Anyone considering this credit should consult with their personal tax advisor to confirm the effects on their individual finances. For more information, please visit the Colorado Department of Revenue FYI bulletin found here:https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/sites/default/files/Income35.pdf

Several of our families are in need of furniture, clothing, and other household items to keep up with growing Littles. While Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado cannot directly accept these donated items, Safari Thrift Store will take them on our behalf and, in return, provide us with vouchers for select families in our program to shop in their store. Schedule a donation online here or call 303-320-8593. There is a minimum of three large items for pick ups and they do not accept mattresses or box springs. Donations can be dropped off at 738 Peoria St. Aurora, CO 80011. Don't forget to mention Big Brothers Big Sisters when you donate!
