Meet Mittar and Trinity
Trinity and Mittar have been matched as Big and Little Brothers in the program for over a year and a half. They are a fantastic match and have a lot of fun together! Trinity and Mittar have done every activity you can think of: sports at the park, bowling, the zoo, butterfly pavilion, museums, lizard expo, Rockies game, Broncos game, etc. They have also taken advantage of many of the group activities that BBBSC offers each month, including fishing, playing baseball with the Denver Zephyr’s, an Easter Egg Hunt, and our BBBSC annual Holiday Party.
Trinity and Mittar have a blast when they are together. Mittar finds opportunities to teach Trinity valuable skills while doing fun activities that they enjoy and trying new things. Since they’ve been matched, Trinity has learned a lot from his Big Brother and he certainly looks up to Mittar as a very important positive male role model in his life. Mittar encourages Trinity to do well in school so that he can go into a life career that he enjoys.
Mittar has been an incredibly committed Big Brother in the program and makes every effort to be a great friend to Trinity and an extra support to the family. Even with a significant change in Mittar’s job and busy life schedule, he still makes spending time with Trinity a priority. Mittar is also dedicated to becoming a better mentor and role model for Trinity. He attends countless mentoring workshops offered by BBBSC to gain skills for his time with his Little Brother and also to actively and openly share his experiences with other matches.
Trinity’s grandma couldn’t be more thankful for the friendship between Trinity and Mittar. She can tell that Trinity really values his time with Mittar. She says that Mittar is such a great influence for Trinity and is constantly teaching Trinity by example. Trinity’s grandma says that Mittar should be “the poster-man for what a Big Brother should be”. And Trinity certainly agrees as he tells his grandma, “I'm really lucky I have Mittar” and “he's my best friend”.
