This past week, at the annual Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA) National Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina, our esteemed Board of Directors was recognized as the National Board of the Year! I, along with our Board Treasurer, Andrew Labbe, Vice-Chair, Doug Dell, and Sports Buddies Manager, Michael Fye, were all present to accept the Board of the Year award on behalf of our youth, mentors, staff, donors, and partners.

This award recognizes the incredible work our Board accomplished throughout our Centennial Year as well as their outstanding leadership, innovation, and dedication to our mission of providing children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported, one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. I have long known that we have the best Board of Directors. Now the rest of the country knows too.

I am also very proud to share that our agency was a finalist for the Agency of the Year award. I am honored to be a part of such a world-class team, dedicated to supporting adult mentors who empower the potential of youth.

To further highlight our exceptional team, our agency was recognized as a Big Brothers Big Sisters of America Gold Standard award recipient. This award recognizes the hard work of our team to provide high-quality programming to the youth we serve and our commitment to continue to grow our programs to reach more youth in our communities.

The BBBSA network of affiliates is comprised of over 250 independent agencies. Agency leaders from Big Brothers Big Sisters’ Nationwide Leadership Council Mentoring Programs Committee selected all of the award winners based on growth in the number of youth served, quality and length of mentoring matches, and increased revenue.

I want to personally thank you and all of our supporters for helping us reach these milestones. Your support ensures that we can continue to inspire, ignite, and empower the potential of youth in our Colorado community.

Thank you!
