BBBSC founded the Sports Buddies Program in 2000. Originally designed to engage more males as mentors and mentees, the program is now open to all genders and is being replicated by other Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies across the country. Matches meet one or two times per month to participate in agency-facilitated group outings that involve attending and/or participating in sports or similar activities.

In conjunction with Sports Buddies, Bigs with Badges is a one-to-one mentoring program in the Pikes Peak region that connects youth facing adversity with first responders – building strong, trusting, and lasting relationships. These relationships can help children develop into confident adults and build stronger bonds between first responders and the families they serve.
