Biking for Baseball

Big Brothers Big Sisters is honored to working with such a great cause! Starting opening day of 2012 in Seattle, the Biking for Baseball team sets its eyes on amazing. The team with be cycling to each and every Major League Ballpark hosting events and igniting communities around a message of positivity and youth mentoring.

By the time the final out is tallied in Boston in September, the team will have cycled over 11,000 miles, hosted 30 events with youth mentoring programs, and had a hands-on impact with thousands of kids in hundreds of communities across the country.

If you have $10 not only could be the proud owner of a 2012 Mustang, but you will also be supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado!

Concerts For Kids introduced a new fundraising concept to their organization that will allow local, 501(C)3 non-profit organizations including Big Brothers Big Sisters, throughout Metro Denver to raise additional funds for their organization. Through “A Million For What Matters” game of skill, Concerts For Kids will make $1 million available to the community by allowing local non-profits to sell tickets where profits directly benefit the services and programming of their organization.

What is “ A Million For What Matters”?

It’s a game of skill where participants will be asked the question, "How much does the band Air Dubai, their equipment and instruments weigh" and will provide an answer as their entry into the contest (answer must be to the hundredth of a pound).

What do you win?

Now through April 30, 2012 for the participant who guesses closest to the actual weight you will win a 2012 Black Ford Mustang valued at $27,900 generously donated by Sill-TerHar Motors.

How do I enter?

Tickets for the game of skill will be sold at $10 per ticket. 100% of all proceeds collected from tickets we sell will be distributed directly back to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado! You can call Mandi McIntyre at 303-433-6002 to be entered or you can donate online by clicking here. If you donate online, please mark in the comments section that your donation would like to be put to “A Million For What Matters” and your weight guess. Please fill out all information like address and phone numbers so we can get a hold of you if you are the winner!

When is the Winner Announced?

The winner of the game of skill will be announced on May 26, 2012 during the Concerts For Kids Denver Day of Rock event and non-profits will be reimbursed for funds raised within 30 days after the event.

Hometown Hero Winner

Congratulations to Mike Fye, a BBBSC Sports Buddies Program Specialist, who was recognized this past weekend at the University of Colorado as the Hometown Hero! Big Brothers Big Sisters Receives $250,000, Multi-Year Gift from CoBank

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado announced that it has received a $250,000, multi-year commitment from CoBank. The investment will be made over five years. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado receives the gift as part of CoBank’s Corporate Giving Program, which in 2010 gave more than $1.3 million to charitable organizations in Colorado and across the nation.
